Bistro rendered in RTVK with progressive path tracing.

Overview

RTVK is a Vulkan ray-tracing renderer I use to develop and study modern light-transport techniques from the renderer architecture down to GPU execution. It implements the complete path from glTF scene data to GPU resources, acceleration structures, material evaluation, sampling, and image accumulation.

Highlights

  • Vulkan hardware ray tracing with BLAS and TLAS
  • glTF scene and physically based material support
  • BSDF importance sampling and next-event estimation
  • Transmission, alpha materials, normal mapping, and volumetric media
  • Ray-cone texture filtering, exposure, and tone mapping
